In the Harmonious Realm of the Bird World

In the magical harmony of the River Sava, the lowland forests, the wet grasslands and Man, still living here in the traditional way, there are 135 bird species nesting and as many as 243 bird species inhabiting Lonja Field Nature Park. This number represents almost two-thirds of the total number of species recorded on Croatian territory. The Nature Park is protected by the Ramsar Convetion as an area of international importance for birds, and it is the largest protected area in the whole Danube Basin. Apart from a daily programme of bird watching and discovering the amazing nooks and crannies of the Nature Park, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the local cuisine, visit some of the cultural attractions in the area, relax in thermal waters, learn about the traditional life of Posavina and taste some excellent wines from Central Croatia. All of which will make this journey unforgettable.
